Joyce E. Ness of Collegeville, Pennsylvania
serves as the Director of the Master of Arts in Education program. Prior to
joining Gratz College in June, 2005, Ms. Ness served
the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit as Director of Continuing Professional
Education. She provided leadership in continuing professional education,
leadership development, teacher induction, professional development planning
and evaluation, strategic planning, needs assessment, and numerous
certification programs for the 21 school districts and over 100 non-public
schools served by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. In addition to Ms.
Ness’ responsibilities at the Intermediate Unit, she is a founding member and
past president of the Pennsylvania Staff Development Council, and is serving as
the Program Chair for the 2005 National Conference of the National Staff
Development Council that will be held in Philadelphia
in December. She is also on the executive board of the Delaware Valley
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and of the Montgomery
County Principals and Supervisors Association. Ms. Ness earned a Bachelor of
Science from Pennsylvania State University
and holds a Master of Education degree from Temple University,
with advanced coursework from several universities. She holds
certification in special education, curriculum and instruction, and K-12
principalship from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
