Teaching about Israel to audiences that have less and less connection to the Jewish state is becoming a greater challenge. Confused by the press coverage, we get mired in the conflicts, and lost within our own ambiguous and ambivalent feelings. As we learn about the roots of modern Israel, its amazing accomplishments, its position as a force to be contended with in our world, as well as the many challenges it confronts, we will discuss and explore together how to teach about Israel. We will be challenged to consider our own feelings and learn how to guide others to come to a meaningful relationship with Israel and all that it is.
