This course offers a practical orientation to an understanding of contemporary synagogue management. Key operations and executive management functions (fiscal, physical and administrative) will be explored with a view towards enabling students to develop critical managerial skills and techniques. Specific subjects include: leadership and the board, finance and budgeting, membership recruitment and retention, marketing, and personnel policy and practices.
