This course will examine the characteristics of the 21st century learner and the increasing role of technology in all areas of education. Partnership for 21st Century Skills recommendations, as well as the national (ISTE) and state standards for technology in schools will be presented. The theoretical foundations for Educational Technology, including Constructivism, the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Brain-based Learning and Adult Learning Principles, will be explored. The course will culminate with a discussion of Web 3.0 and emerging trends in Educational Technology.
