Allan H Glazerman

Allan Glazerman is currently the Executive Director of Emanuel Synagogue in Sydney Australia.  With a membership of 1500 families and an annual budget of $2.0 million, Emanuel is recognized as the leading Progressive synagogue in Sydney.

Committed to fostering an environment that provides meaningful religious, educational, cultural, and social action experiences for all members of the congregation, Allan provides the day-to-day management of the fiscal, physical, and administrative affairs of the synagogue.  Prior to joining the Emanuel family, he served as the Executive Director Congregation Etz Chaim, Marietta Georgia and, before that, the Fair Lawn Jewish Center, in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.  He has overseen and advised numerous committees, including Personnel, Fund-raising, Budget and Finance, Membership, Dues Adjustments, and Collections. Earlier in his career he taught philosophy and then transitioned to Senior Adult camping, becoming the Director of the Block and Hexter Vacation Center.
Allan received his MBA from Kennesaw State University, where he was selected for membership in the Honor Societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma. He received his M.A. from Syracuse University, and his B.A. from the City College of New York. He has served on philosophy faculties at Syracuse University, The Pennsylvania State University, Bishop College and the Dallas County Community College System, and has over fifteen years executive level not-for-profit experience supporting Jewish community organizations and synagogues ranging in size from 600 to 1500 families.
