Anna Urowitz-Freudenstein received both her Ph.D. in Midrash and her M.A. in Ancient Judaism, from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled, "An Investigation of Exegetical Methods in the Tannaitic Midrashim: A Study of Texts that Mention Individual Women". She has taught at JTS, Rutgers, and online for Gratz College and Hebrew College. She teaches at the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto as well as adult education in various venues. She is the moderator for H-Judaic, a Scholarly Electronic Forum. Dr. Urowitz-Freudenstein lives in her hometown, Toronto, with her husband and two children.
