Dr. Dan Mendelsohn Aviv has been involved in Jewish education as a practitioner and published scholar for almost fifteen years. He is the founding Director of the Centre for Jewish Living and Learning @ Temple Emanu-El, the cheeky blogger at www.lomdim.ca, wry speaker and educator-at-large in the Greater Toronto Area. He has presented on topics as wide-ranging as "Sexual Zionism", Second Temple Era Judaism, and continuity and change in Jewish tradition. His publications include "You Have 600,000 Friends: Jewish Identity and Community in the Age of Social Networking Sites and Computer-Mediated Communication" and "Teaching ‘the Stubborn and Rebellious Son’: Orthophagy, Adolescence, and Jewish Education". He also juggles his two daughters and son while preparing nice cups of tea for his lovely spouse Noa, a Canadian civil libertarian.
