Dr. Sydney Engelberg grew up in South Africa and attended the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) where he graduated with a double B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy. After moving to Israel in 1969, he completed an M.A. in Clinical Psychology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His Ph.D. and Post-Doc were obtained at SUNY/Buffalo in Clinical-Community Psychology.
Dr. Engelberg has been Master of a Residential University College in Sydney, Australia; Founding Director of the Program in Community Psychology at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia; taught at Clarke University and Derby University, England; and consulted to the World Bank, UNICEF, IBM, Microsoft and Intel. He currently is on the faculty of the Schwartz Program in Nonprofit Management in the School of Social Work and Social Welfare and the Nonprofit Management and Leadership program at the Rothberg International School, both at the Hebrew University, as well as being a senior faculty member at the Lander Institute in Jerusalem. He has his own consulting practise with clients in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. Dr. Engelberg has published widely and run executive workshops on leadership in Latin America, Europe, Great Britain and the USA.
