Lonna S. Picker M.A.
Recently retired after 35 years of serving as a Director of Education in the Conservative movement, Lonna has pioneered programs in Family Education, Staff Development, Integrating Creative Expression into the School Environment, Faculty Child-care and Creating Community. She served as USCJ U-STEP Facilitator, JEA Placement Advisor and is currently an Etgar Teacher Educator as well as a past President of the Jewish Educators Assembly. In addition to authoring many articles, and facilitating workshops for the JEA, JESNA, CAJE and The Melton Research Center, she is the Recipient of the JEA Behrman House Award for Lifetime Achievement in Jewish Education. Lonna has been recognized for her work in mentoring and training teachers and principals. She studied at Towson State University (B.A.) and JTS (M.A., Doctor of Pedagogy, honoris causa). Her first love is her family: her husband of 48 years, 2 daughters and their husbands and 5 incredible grandchildren. In her leisure hours, she enjoys golf, cycling, cooking and reading.
