Rabbi Erin Hirsh is the Interim President of Gratz College. Her appointment begins February 1, 2017.
Rabbi Hirsh, Assistant Professor of Jewish Education, has been the Director of Gratz Advance since the 2015 - 2016 academic year. Her portfolio includes NEXT: the Professional Learning Program for Supplementary School Teachers, which she created, as well as other programs focused on supplementary Jewish education. Rabbi Hirsh is also responsible for the Jewish Community High School and Gratz' other programs for high school students.
Prior to coming to Gratz College, Rabbi Hirsh served as Director of Congregational Education for the Reconstructionist Movement. She directed two congregational schools in the Greater Philadelphia area for more than a decade. In addition to supplementary school and congregational environments, Rabbi Hirsh has taught at the college level and worked in informal Jewish settings such as overnight camps and youth groups. Rabbi Hirsh writes both formal and experiential curricula for elementary age children, teens, families and adults. She is the founding partner of a consulting business, JEWEL: Jewish Educational Wisdom, Experience & Leadership.
