Gabrielle Kaplan-Mayer, M.A.J.S.

Gabrielle Kaplan-Mayer,  is an author and Jewish educator who has worked in a variety of settings. Her books include The Creative Jewish Wedding Book (Jewish Lights), The Bar/Bat Mitzvah Planner (Seller Publishing) and most recently The Kitchen Classroom (Woodbine House), a cookbook designed for children of all abilities. She graduated with a BFA in theater and creative writing from Emerson College in 1993 and graduated with an MA in Jewish Studies from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2001.

Currently, Gabrielle serves as an education consultant for Jewish Learning Venture in Philadelphia and also coordinates a Shabbat family education program for children with special needs called Celebrations! at Congregation Mishkan Shalom. Gabrielle is a mom of two children (ages 9 and 6), loves writing about family and food at www.kitchenclassroom4kids.com, and loves exploring her own spirituality through yoga, walking, writing, cooking, enjoying time with her husband and children and learning.
