JOLT TWO-SEMESTER COURSES (FALL/SPRING, 2013-2014)

  • Confronting the Holocaust (4 credits)
  • Songs of My People (4 credits, college level course)**
  • Hebrew I (4 credits)*
  • Hebrew II (4 credits)*
  • Hebrew for Day School Graduates (4 credits)*

** For Hazamir choir members only
*JOLT Hebrew courses are open to all students, grades 8-12.  Level is determined by placement test for new students.  11th and 12th graders may elect to take Hebrew for college credit, upon completion of an application. Please indicate this choice on your registration. Special fees apply for Concurrent Enrollment in college courses.

A TASTE OF JOLT: 6 WEEK MINI-COURSE

  • Encountering American Holidays as a Jew (1 credit) (October 7-November 17)
  • Sacred Scandals:  Bad Behavior in Biblical Texts (1 credit) (November 18-January 5, 2014)

FALL SEMESTER, 2013

  • American Jewish Dilemmas & Debates (2 credits)
  • Jewish Civics Initiative (2 credits)
  • Engage, Enhance & Educate (2 credits)

Concurrent Enrollment Courses (eligible for college credit):

  • Israel: Current Events and Controversies (3 college credits)
  • Living the Bible in Today‚Äôs Modern World (3 college credits)

For concurrent enrollment in college credit courses, students are required to submit a Gratz College application available on line.  Please refer to Tuition and Fees to learn about concurrent enrollment fees.

  • Fall/ year-long registration deadline:   September 24, 2013
  • Orientation:  September 23-October 6, 2013
  • Fall Semester begins:  October 7, 2013
  • End of Fall Semester:  January 19, 2014
  • Spring registration deadline:   January 24, 2014
  • Orientation (only for new JOLT students):  January 20-February 2, 2014
  • Spring Semester begins:  February 3, 2014
  • End of Spring Semester:  May 25, 2014
