JOLT offers many different Hebrew classes each year for 8th-12th graders. They meet at specific days and times each week and can be for high school (1 hour per week) or college credit (1.5 hours per week). Most high school classes are two-semesters (30 weeks) and college classes are one semester (15 weeks).
Many teens fulfill their high school foreign language requirements with our Hebrew courses. We are happy to talk to guidance counselors to make that happen!
Hebrew classes range from decoding (reading and writing the Hebrew alphabet) to classes conducted entirely in Hebrew.
The Hebrew classes for college credit are part of our Gratz Academy. In these classes, teens are learning with adults whose Hebrew is at the same level.
All Hebrew classes are taught with an appreciation of the wide array of backgrounds and beliefs that our teens bring to JOLT classes and are designed to be equally accessible to those with different levels of previous Jewish education. We are always happy to help you determine what level is appropriate for you. Please contact our Hebrew Coordinator for help with this.
JOLT offers a wide array of Jewish Studies classes and invite 8th-12th graders to enroll in any and all that are of interest! The classes are asynchronous, meaning our students can log in at any time, day or night which is a great advantage to teens who are juggling busy lives.

The Jewish studies classes vary in length, ranging from mini-courses to semester-long courses (15 weeks) to year-long classes (30 weeks) and can be for high school or college credit. College credit classes are for 11th and 12th graders and are part of our Gratz Academy program
