Community/Service Learning Programs

Service Learning & Leadership Institute
"Over my years at JCHS, the Service Learning Programs have greatly changed my life. The hugs from the kids at the shelter, the smiles from the residents at Elwyn - they made my weeks complete and showed me how far a smile can go."

The Service Learning and Leadership Institute, a division of JCHS, is committed to educating and empowering Jewish high school students to become socially responsible leaders. Institute students translate Jewish values of education, spirituality, and service into a meaningful way of life and a powerful Jewish identity.

Students increase their understanding of Jewish responsibility toward self, family, and community through service in Jewish, as well as secular settings.

The Service Learning and Leadership Institute involves students in planning, preparation, service, and evaluation.  It empowers youth to develop an articulate and compassionate view of the world and themselves...all the while having the time of their lives!
