Tuttleman Foundation Cultural Award
In 1996, Gratz College, the Western Hemisphere's oldest independent, non-denominationally affiliated college of Judaic, Hebraic and Middle Eastern Studies celebrated its centennial. The Tuttleman Library Committee of the Board of Governors of Gratz College established the Gratz College Centennial Book Award to commemorate this historic milestone.
The award was known as The Tuttleman Foundation Book Award of Gratz College and was given from 1996 through 2003 in a prescribed area of Jewish Studies. The winner was selected by a national jury of leading scholars, and received the Tuttleman Family Foundation prize consisting of $1000 and a plaque, which was presented at an awarsd ceremony each Fall.
