The Gratz College Samuel Netzky Division of Continuing Education helps make the Jewish community more knowledgeable about its culture and heritage. It does so through a variety of day and evening courses and programs appropriate for adults of all levels of Jewish commitment.

  • The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School of Gratz College is a self-contained, two-year program of intensive courses for Jewish adults who seek serious learning about their heritage and culture. Topics include:
    • The Rhythms of Jewish Living
    • The Purpose of Jewish Living
    • The Drama of Jewish Living
    • The Ethics of Jewish Living
  • Special post-graduate courses designed by Gratz College.
  • Mandell Institute for the study of Jewish languages.
  • Local excursions to the Yiddish theater and Jewish museums.
  • Adult educational courses in Jewish history, Rabbinics, Jewish music and the Holocaust allow members of the community to connect with their peers while learning more about the traditions that make up their heritage.
  • The Shusterman Distinguished Scholars Lecture series brings world-renowned academic leaders to present the fruit of their path-breaking research to the public.
  • The Treasures of the Tuttleman Library, in which Gratz College faculty present their scholarly expertise, through the Library’s rare holdings, to shed new light on Jewish history and civilization.
  • Courses in Continuing Legal Education, accredited by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, present scholars analyzing and comparing American and Jewish law.
  • Yiddish cultural programs including klezmer music, folk concerts and discussions of Eastern European Jewish culture.
