Jewish Education
One of the great challenges facing the Jewish community of the 21st century will be to fill an increasing number of positions in formal and informal educational settings. Through the MA program in Jewish Education, Gratz College prepares students for positions as teachers and administrators in day and supplementary schools, Jewish summer camps, youth organizations and much more.
Students at Gratz College take advantage of outstanding faculty and educational resources, including dual degree program and joint program options at area colleges and universities. All programs combine clinical knowledge of educational methodology and theory with grounding in Jewish studies. An individualized internship conducted under close supervision provides an important educational experience.
Gratz graduate are in strong demand, and currently fill posts throughout North America in synagogues, early childhood settings, Jewish community centers, in bureaus of Jewish education, on college campuses and beyond. Gratz alumni have found themselves well prepared for the challenges of leadership in their fields and in the Jewish community at large, and move easily through positions of increasing responsibility and prestige.
This 36-credit graduate program can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis. In addition to traditional classroom instruction, students complete a 3-credit individualized internship, which is considered part of the 36-credit requirement.
