Required Instructional Core (15 credits)
These five courses were selected to be the core of instruction because each provides an essential component of excellent instruction.
Please note that courses listed here beginning with the number 4 is the same as those in the Regional Training Center brochure beginning with the letter A, so that course 45291 is the same as A5291, etc.
Required Classroom Management Core (3 credits)
Either of these courses will substantially increase the teacher’s ability to manage the climate in the classroom, creating an appropriate learning environment. Dignifying both the learner and the learning process are essential.
Elective Courses (any two courses--6 credits)
The candidate and her/his advisor together plan which electives best meet the needs of the teacher’s own classroom / school situation, and professional opportunities for growth. These courses deepen and broaden the teacher’s knowledge and skills into topics/areas of their choice.
Required Research Course and Performance Project (9 credits)
With her/his research advisor, the candidate will determine the topic, body of research, research techniques, applied research strategies and the writing/recording of the Project. This culminating activity is conducted in three stages:
