Additional Certificate Programs
Students who complete their senior year at JCHS but do not complete the requirements for either the Diploma or Teaching Certificate may earn one or more of the following certificates:
Certificate of Merit
Students have taken a variety of courses, and may be attending JCHS for the purpose of Confirmation in their synagogue or for their personal enrichment. A student can earn this credential after attending a branch location for the equivalent of one day a week for five years.
30-69 Credits
Certificate in Camp Counseling and Youth Leadership
The program is designed for students interested in building skills that can be used in working at Jewish summer camps and Jewish youth organizations. The students will gain practical experience skills, supplemented by courses in camp counseling and youth leadership, Jewish history for the youth leader and contemporary issues.
14 credits including a grade of "B" or higher in courses 806 and 807
Certificate in Service Learning
Students increase their understanding of Jewish responsibility towards self, family, community, and the world. Students gain hands-on experience through their involvement in area community service projects while taking courses in history, leadership, and program-planning.
14 credits in SLLI courses, plus attendance at at least 2 JCHS-sponsored community events.
