Hebrew Ulpan
If Not Now, When?
Learn modern spoken Hebrew. Multiple class levels. Small class sizes.
All classes meet once a week for 12 weeks, 7-9 pm. Morning class at Gratz only from 9:15 - 11:15.
- Tuition $250. Seniors (65+): $165.
- All classes begin the week of February 1
Introduction to Hebrew A: P310M
Learn to read Hebrew in just 12 easy lessons!
Introduction to Hebrew B: P309M
Gain reading fluency and basic conversation.
Level I: P301M
Learn present & past tenses & gain 300 vocabulary words.
Level II: P302M
Learn future tense, infinitive form and gain 350 additional vocabulary words.
Level III: P303M
Learn to conduct conversations for day-to-day situations.
Level IV: P304M
Gain another 550 vocabulary words and begin to generate mature sentences.
Level V: P305M
Develop more sophisticated language skills and attain the ability to read easy newspapers and stories.
Advanced Hebrew Conversation: 306M
Continue developing Hebrew language skills. Class conducted in Hebrew.
Tuition Refunds for Yiddish and Hebrew Programs
If you withdraw from a Hebrew (H) or Yiddish (Y) course you will receive a refund of tuition according to the following schedule:
- Before 3rd (H) or 2nd (Y) scheduled class: 100% of tuition
- Before 4th (H) or 3rd (Y) scheduled class: 75% of tuition
- Before 5th (H) or 4th (Y) scheduled class: 50% of tuition
There is no refund if you withdraw after the 5th (H) or 4th (Y) scheduled class meeting. Refunds will be calculated from the date you notify the program director.
The children/trustees of Samuel and Ida Mandell established the Mandell Institute for the Study of Jewish Languages in May of 1998 as a tribute to their late parents. This program is also supported by the Harry Stern Institute for Israel Studies.
