The Jewish community is seeing an increased demand for teachers and administrators in day and supplementary schools, Jewish summer camps, youth organizations and other institutions. Gratz College is preparing the next generations of educators who, in turn, will mold future generations of Jewish students of all ages.
Students completing this course of study will:
- Understand their own orientation to Judaism and develop a respect for other orientations
- Identify major issues and trends in the theory and practice of Jewish education today and utilize new approaches and materials that appear in the field
- Demonstrate a core knowledge of Jewish studies and pedagogical-content knowledge sufficient to teach in a Jewish school.
