ACT 48
ACT 48 Continuing Education Credits
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) website states that under ACT 48, "Educators must earn six credits of collegiate study; or six credits of PDE-approved continuing professional education courses; or 180 hours of continuing professional education programs, activities or learning experiences through a PDE approved provider; or any combination of the above every five years to maintain active certification status." NOTE: You must complete the course before submitting the form for ACT 48 credits.
Gratz College offers the following PDE-approved ACT 48 options:
-
Graduate courses: 3 credits each (1/2 of ACT 48 requirement)
- Common Subject Areas: Education and Holocaust & Genocide Studies
- Please note, courses you select should be relevant to your area of certification.
- Education courses are skills-focused, not subject area content-based, so they should all be acceptable for credit.
-

- Tuzman Holocaust Teach-In: up to 8 Activy Hours
- Trips to Holocaust museums: up to 8 Activy Hours
