Fertility Matters in Jewish Education

One in four families face fertility challenges, which means that multiple children in a classroom likely come from families that have faced and/or are dealing with fertility struggles. In this course, participants will gain an understanding of how and why Jewish educators can and should support these students and families and the myriad ways in which students may be affected. Participants will learn how family structure, adoption, and pregnancy loss can impact their students. They will also learn about the long-lasting effects of fertility struggles on parenting. Participants will study specific texts and Jewish teachings that may serve as resources when addressing this topic with students.

Uprooted works to cultivate a pluralistic Jewish healing community by educating, raising awareness of, and providing support to those struggling along their fertility journeys. www.weareuprooted.org
