Leadership for the Camp Professional (CMP 602) (3 Credits)

This course will provide an overview of the research on effective leadership practices and the characteristics that people most admire in their leaders. Students will explore Kouzes’ and Posner’s research into the five exemplary leadership practices and Peter Senge’s view of the leader as designer, steward and teacher. The research and theories will be applied throughout the course to contemporary camp situations and students will explore their own preferred leadership style.
