Katherine E. Aron-Beller, Ph.D.

Katherine Aron-Beller was born in the United Kingdom, and has lived in Israel for more than twenty years. She has worked at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, and taught at George Washington University, Tel Aviv University, the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and Gratz College. She is the author of Jews on Trial: The Papal Inquisition in Modena 1598-1638 (Manchester: Manchester University Press, 2011), the co-editor of The Roman Inquisition: Centre versus Peripheries (Leiden: Brill, 2018) and many other articles on the Catholic Inquisition, anti-semitism and the Jews of Modena. She is now finishing a book called Jews as Image Desecrators: Tracing an Allegation.
