The Founding Stakeholders Campaign
for the Center for Holocaust Studies
and Human Rights
CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES AND WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE
★ Center Sustainability
Establishing an endowment that provides naming rights for the Center is the campaign’s highest priority. A restricted endowment fund will provide support for administrative leadership, technology, materials, and other operational expenses that will both sustain and grow the Center over time.
- Center Naming = $2.5 million
★ Faculty Excellence
- Named Endowed Professor of Human Rights = $2 million
- Named Endowed Professor of Anti-Semitism & Hate Studies = $2 million
★ Student Success
- Named Endowed Full Scholarship = $300,000 (PhD) / $200,000 (MA)
- Named Endowed Partial Scholarship = $150,000 (PhD) / $125,000 (MA)
★ Archive Digitization
With a major gift from the Barbara and Fred Kort Foundation, Gratz is poised to become a field leader in digital education tools. Current assets include the Holocaust Oral History Archive, the Eric Mandell Collection of Jewish Music, and most recently, the Dr. Lena Allen-Shore Collection. Gratz is launching the Holocaust Geniza Project to preserve and democratic access to these primary source materials. The digitized content of these collections will be integrated into the Gratz curriculum across courses of study; will support graduate-level research; provide critical resources for K-12 teacher professional development; and support a range of other Center educational initiatives.
- The Barbara and Fred Kort Foundation Holocaust Geniza Project (funded) = $300,000
- Named Endowed Digital American Antisemitica = $350,000
★ Community Engagement
The Center serves the broader community through public programs -- such as the Arnold and Esther Tuzman Memorial Holocaust Teach-In Feinstone Lecture on the Meaning of Freedom -- that raise awareness and provide rich learning experiences that leverage faculty and partner expertise. The Center hopes to expand its offerings for community education.
- Named Endowed Annual Research Conference on Antisemitism and Racism = $250,000
- Named Endowed Lecture Series for Emerging Scholars = $50,000
- Podcast for Youth/Adults = $20,000
★ Expand Holocaust Education
As an online college, Gratz is uniquely positioned to scale high quality professional development for K-12 teachers in states and regions with a Holocaust education mandate. Our expert faculty will design workshops and mini-courses offering micro-credentials in a range of skills.
- K-12 Teacher Professional Development Sustainability Gift = $120,000
- Micro-credential Course Development = $35,000
