Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition Awards Ceremony

Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition Awards CeremonyFREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

WALK-INS WELCOME!

Monday, June 5, 2023, 7:00 pm, ET
In-person at Gratz College

Named in memory of the heroic young leader who organized Jewish resistance and gave his life fighting in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943, the Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition invites students in grades 7 - 12 to learn about the Holocaust and respond by means of creative expression.

Students submitted original works in the form of poetry, prose, drawing, painting, sculpture, music, dance and video. Artwork is currently exhibited on-site at Gratz College in the Kramer Gallery, and a booklet of winning written entries will be compiled. Through a multi-level judging process, selected works will be recognized at this awards ceremony with prizes; and some students will be invited to present their written and music entries to the audience. All students who submitted entries will receive a certificate of participation.

Dr. Maureen Pelta, Chair
Professor of Art History
