The Weitzman will screen the documentary Rebuilt from Broken Glass in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Following the film, the audience is welcomed to stay for a Q&A with the director, Larry Hanover, and star of the documentary, Fred Behrend.
Synopsis: At age 12, Fred Behrend witnessed the flames of Kristallnacht in 1938, seeing synagogue after synagogue on fire, and soon fled Nazi tyranny. Several years later, as an American GI, he achieved his victory over the Nazis, teaching democracy to German POWs. At age 92, he discovered one last triumph still awaited—a miracle 80 years in the making.
