Would you guess that a 78-year-old retired American woman and a 32-year-old Ethiopian Israeli look forward each week to spending time together?
In Israel, the key to career success is often English fluency. English B’Yachad, Skilled Volunteers for Israel’s flagship program, pairs older professionals with young Israeli adults from less-advantaged communities to help them advance socioeconomically.
Volunteering from home, volunteers dedicate about an hour a week sharing English conversation and professional advice to help these young adults improve fluency and build their confidence in English.
Learn how your passion for Israel and desire to help others can transform lives and make a difference.
Kosher lunch is provided.
Gratz College invites a range of voices to our programs, and the positions expressed by speakers are their own. While not all events aim to represent the full spectrum of perspectives on issues, we encourage thoughtful engagement and respectful dialogue.
