Speaker: Jonathan Mooney

Jonathan Mooney was a neuro-diverse child diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD who didn't learn to read until he was twelve. Later on, he graduated from Brown University and became a noted writer and learning advocate. In between, he came to the life-saving realization that it was the educational system and the concept of 'normal' that was the problem, not him.

In this intimate conversation, Mooney will share his journey and offer teachers and parents new ways of thinking about diversity and disability in the classroom. The audience should expect a practical-optimism, taking away useful strategies and ways of thinking rooted in Mooney's - and their - lived experiences.
