Deborah Aron is the current Director of the Non Profit Management program at Gratz College. Ms. Aron’s career has combined her interests in Jewish communal service and Jewish education. Her undergraduate degree is from Brandeis University in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. She received her Masters in Social Work from Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University with a specialization in group work, and was a Senior Educator Fellow at the Melton Institute of Hebrew University’s School of Education.
Her early clinical experience was in serving families experiencing chronic or terminal illness, and, in particular, children’s responses to loss. As a Jewish communal professional, she worked for over twenty years as the Director of Jewish Family Life Education at Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia, managing its support and workshop programs, interfaith family services, GLBT services, prevention programs for school age children in the schools, and Jewish service learning program. She was the President of the Tri-State Jewish Communal Professional Association from 1998-2000.
Ms. Aron lives in Philadelphia, is married, and has three children.
