This course, through interdisciplinary analyses, students will explore historical and contemporary conspiracy narratives targeting Jewish individuals and communities, ranging from medieval blood libel accusations to modern-day conspiracies involving global power and control. The course will examine the psychological, sociological, and political factors that contribute to the proliferation of antisemitic conspiracy theories, as well as their impact on public discourse, policymaking, and social cohesion. Students will critically evaluate the dissemination of antisemitic conspiracies through various mediums, including literature, media, and the internet, and analyze strategies for countering their harmful effects on society. By the end of the course, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the complexities surrounding antisemitism and conspiracy theories, empowering them to challenge misinformation and promote informed dialogue in academic, professional, and public spheres.
