EDU 605 - School & Film
Students in this course will be given the opportunity to study and reflect on the way that “school” is portrayed on film. Movies, television shows, and documentary films are shaped by–and, indeed, shape–popular culture, impacting how people think about education. Utilizing a critical constructivist approach, students will watch, analyze, and critique individual films. As a community of learners, members of the class will collectively construct meaning as the course progresses. Students will also explore how film can be used as a meaningful classroom resource.
