EDU 622 - Professional Ethics in Special Education
This course will provide students with a thorough understanding of the ethical and legal responsibilities of the teaching profession. Students will become familiar with Pennsylvania’s Code of Professional Practice and Conduct for Educators. Students will gain knowledge in a variety of content areas including federal and state privacy laws, effective advocacy procedures, ethical practice for assessment, and legal requirements for safeguarding student health and welfare. The course will also include the review/analysis of case studies and the impact the case study may have on the Educator Discipline Act.
