EDU 623 - A Systems Approach to Interventions & Specialized Instruction
Special Educators must be prepared to implement research-based intervention models and data-driven, reliable assessments in order to plan individualized instructional plans for students with diverse learning and social challenges. Highlights of the course include:
- Review research and practice specific to specialized instruction for students with disabilities in language, reading, writing, math, and other content areas.
- Study processes of disability identification and monitoring student progress; and data-based decision-making for instruction, universal instruction, and interventions
- Explore effective practices for a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) and school-wide positive behavioral support (SWPBS).
- Learn how to lead professional learning in various capacities effectively
