This course is thoughtfully crafted to instill in students a profound comprehension of positive behavior support strategies within the school environment, particularly for individuals facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Emphasis will be placed on illuminating the definitions, characteristics, prevalence, causes, and assessment methodologies related to emotional and behavioral disorders. Within the course, a pivotal focus will be directed towards incorporating effective teaching practices, encompassing education service placements, functional behavior assessment, and, notably, the implementation of positive behavior supports and applied behavior analysis. The course structure will accentuate the direct application of acquired knowledge and skills within the classroom setting.
