HGS 513/713 - Representing the Holocaust in Different Art Forms

Due to its enormity and unprecedented nature, the Holocaust has attracted artistic interpretation, private and public, trained and untrained, both from within and beyond the Jewish community. We will study art, film, photographs, and graphic novels in post-Holocaust efforts to interpret the Holocaust visually by survivors and by generations of artists who did not directly experience the horrors of the Holocaust themselves.
