HGS 605 - FA25B: Social Sciences of the Holocaust

This master's-level seminar introduces students to the emerging field of the social science of the Holocaust. It examines recent contributions by social scientists and historians, with a particular focus on microhistorical analysis, quantitative methods, and localized geographical perspectives. These approaches represent new ways of addressing gaps in Holocaust knowledge while expanding the tools available for research and teaching. Students will engage critically with key concepts, methodologies, and theoretical frameworks, developing a deeper understanding of how social science approaches can enrich Holocaust studies and be applied in their own scholarly work.
