This course utilizes theoretical discussion and practical experience to prepare students to integrate survivor testimony into their projects effectively and responsibly. It examines issues related to the collection of testimony, the unique challenges of using testimony in our scholarly writing, and practical methods to coherently integrate testimony into a narrative. Students will work with testimonies from the USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive, the digitized collection of survivor testimonies held at the USHMM, and our own Holocaust History Archive at Gratz College.
