IFL 506/706 Interfaith Scriptures
The three Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all derive their beliefs and traditions from their sacred Scriptures. This course examines the Torah, the New Testament, and the Quran and investigates what these sacred texts share in common and what makes each of them unique. Five passages that appear in all three Scriptures will be analyzed, to see how each of the traditions has a specific understanding of that passage, including Adam and Eve; Cain and Abel; Abraham and the Sacrifice of his Son; The Exodus from Egypt; and Divine Revelation.
