In this course students will explore the ancient Rabbis of the Talmud through various Rabbinic literatures. Along the way we will encounter heroes and rebels, the pious and the vain, such as Hillel and Shammai, Rabbi Yohanan and Reish Lakish, and Rav and Shmuel. We will discover the values and ethical systems that these men lived by and debated.
